Benjamin

Job Title: Senior Database Developer
Years with Radialpoint: 4

What do you do at Radialpoint (what is a typical day like)?

There is no typical day – I could work on anything from: crunching and slicing a set of data to find a trend, code reviewing a Java web service, collaborating on an architecture doc, designing and implementing a star schema model, talking to data consumers to see what they need, producing metrics for tactical decisions...

What makes you get up and come to work for Radialpoint every morning?

Radialpoint really is about making average people’s lives easier by simplifying technology -- it’s not just a slogan. It’s inspiring to work with colleagues, whether they are executives or integrators, who are aligned with that philosophy. There are ample technological challenges and high-caliber colleagues to make achieving that goal an interesting journey.

Describe the culture at Radialpoint and how it’s different from any previous job.

I was previously at a startup and at an established large company. Radialpoint is a good balance of those – more stable than the former and more dynamic and horizontal than the latter.

What advice would you give to someone considering working at Radialpoint?

If you like challenges and becoming the most efficient you can be, are proactive about seeing the big picture, are good at managing your time, and don’t mind learning about new technologies as needed by the team and customer requirements, you could thrive here.

How is working in a rapidly growing high-tech company different from other industries?

With our creativity, maintaining a high bar for new hires, and discipline to maintaining team dynamic and caliber, we are able to scale to meet growing requests for information and insight.
